The territorial brand Arcachon bay is managed by the Brand Center of the Syndicat Intercommunal du Bassin d'Arcachon, which supports partners and runs the network, by providing facilitating tools; who coordinates the promotion of the brand in conjunction with institutional and economic players; and who guarantees the image of the brand and its proper use.
This brand brings together 850 partners united around a common identity. It is a shared territory brand, which aims to collectively support the territory project. The natural features of the Arcachon Basin have built a way of life and generated values specific to the Basin. The aim is not only to nourish the attractiveness but also the attachment of businesses and economic players. Our place of business is Dune of Pilat, who is an exceptional site, unique in Europe and in the world, located on the Atlantic coast, near Bordeaux. It is very popular with all paragliders around the world, from beginner to expert level, for its atypical appearance in our practice. It allows you to progress at all levels in a fun way, by mixing ground play and the flight phase to improve your technical level during takeoff and landing phases; important moments when it is essential to have good dexterity and a good level of precision to fly safely.
More flying on the site of the Dune du Pyla, you will have a beautiful view on our coastline, the Arcachon bay, Cap Ferret, Banc d’Arguin, the Landes forest and of course the Dune of Pilat (highest dune in Europe with its 102m high).
Being passionate about the great outdoors and nature, I try through Dune Parapente, when I carry out our paragliding baptism services, to highlight this exceptional and sensitive place. During my discussions with my clients, I highlight my commitment to protecting and respecting the environment, especially on this sensitive site.
To be able to fly on this site, you need well-oriented wind between north and west, with good strength between 15 and 40 km/h; but above all you need a slope that is well oriented and sufficiently high and steep. This is why we must have even more benevolent behavior towards this fragile and sensitive playground and remind our customers how to behave to preserve it. Because without this kindness, the future of the Dune and our activity would be in danger in the long term.
